The first of two vacant lifestyle properties in the shadow of Split Point Lighthouse – famous for its role in TV show Round the Twist – sold last week.

Lot B Reserve Road, Aireys Inlet went for $2 million as buyers queued up for the chance to secure a rare slice of property at one of the Great Ocean Road’s most picturesque locations.

The 3,237sqm site is an elevated block with views to the lighthouse, the Surf Coast coastline and Great Otway National Park, depending on which way you look, and has enough room to build a dream home for any lifestyle needs.

Great Ocean Properties director Marty Maher said the incredible features and pop-culture fame of the property attracted plenty of interest during the selling campaign.

“We had two parties that were interested and made offers,” he said.

“The buyers loved the proximity of the lighthouse as a backdrop and also loved the size and privacy of Lot B.

“The lighthouse precinct remains a tightly-held and exclusive area.

“There is also incredible fascination around the lighthouse because it was part of the very popular Round the Twist series.”

A second, larger (3,722sqm) lot next door to the sold property, Lot A, remains for sale with an asking price of $3.5 million-$3.8 million.
