Club Armstrong extension to support work from home
A sleek new million-dollar ClarkeHopkinsClarke-designed extension to Mount Duneed’s Club Armstrong will cater for the growing number of residents settling in at the award-winning Villawood Properties community.
The upgrade will see a new double-storey building with lobby and lift, a communal office and deck overlooking the club’s resort pools.
A second multi-purpose room will be on level one with balcony and kitchenette.
It will be connected to the club’s existing shed, previously used as a community Men’s Shed, which will be refurbished and extended to become a new multi-purpose room with kitchenette.
Armstrong’s population has expanded rapidly since Villawood built Club Armstrong, at a cost of $7.5 million, and the COVID pandemic has meant many residents have been working from home.
Prior to COVID, the club’s function space was booked out every weekend for birthdays and other family celebrations.
Villawood decided another multi-purpose function room was needed.
The facility has been designed by ClarkeHopkinsClarke with its focus on social connection and well-being for the thriving community.
Construction is anticipated to begin in Q1 2022.
“We’re absolutely thrilled and can’t wait for the new addition,” said Jacky Bassett, Club Armstrong centre manager.
“It’s going to be a huge asset to our facility and the community, since Villawood’s announced the new building for our club, we’ve been busily planning how we see the usage come to life.”
The club upgrade reflects the evolution of how people live and work over the past two years. The new communal office space will give residents a new flexible workspace option, as an alternative to working from home.
Club Armstrong features first-class facilities and recreational spaces exclusively available to eligible Armstrong residents and hugely popular
with its cafe, gym, tennis courts, swimming pools and function space to kick back and relax in.
The beauty of Club Armstrong, the social heart of the Armstrong community, is that it’s much more than a resort-style club with a luxurious feel.
It’s the nucleus of the community, a central meeting place close to home and a welcoming haven for residents to catch up with neighbours and make new friends.
Like every Villawood resident’s club, it’s an investment in the health and happiness of residents.
