Family day, land auction for Ocean Grove estate

A host of family activities will be back at Oakdene Estate on October 8 ahead of a new land release.

AN Oakdene Estate family day will return next month after a COVID-caused hiatus as the latest land release for the Ocean Grove community goes up for sale.

Selling agents Kerleys Coastal Real Estate is hosting a double-pronged land auction and family fun day at the estate on October 8 as new properties hit the market.

A total of 22 lots are due to go under the hammer next week for the stage 11A release, for blocks at Devlins Road and Statesman Parkway, which range from 304 to 454 square metres.

Oakdene ambassador and Geelong Cats legend Cameron Ling will be in attendance on the day for a meet and greet event, while there’ll also be a petting zoo, games and prizes, and food trucks from 11am to 2pm.

Oakdene ambassador Cameron Ling will be at next week’s event.

The auction will go ahead after the community activities.

Kerleys Coastal Real Estate says the auction is aimed at giving all community members an equal opportunity to bid for the land parcels, as opposed to first come, first served methods that has caused queuing for days prior to sale dates across the region in recent months.

The agency’s managing director Damian Cayzer said interest had cooled in recent weeks but said he was looking forward to bringing the new release to market.

“The market has changed since our last release, so we are not currently experiencing huge demand,” he said.

“We are not auctioning the allotments because we believe they will sell out, we are simply avoiding queuing and providing all members of the public with the same opportunity to buy.

“The lots are scheduled to be titled in February 2023 with construction currently well underway.”
