Mr Bishop says that an independent roof report is a valuable tool in a dispute over issues such as workmanship and compliance with the Code of Practice.

“A non-compliant roof can lead to serious damage and often means that insurance claims are declined.

“It is also very important for people to know the condition of their roof, not only to prevent deterioration leading to leaks, but also so that subsequent insurance claims are accepted,” he said.

“Out of sight, out of mind is not a good strategy when it comes to your roof!

“A roof in poor condition is likely to cause a claim to be partially or fully declined.

“I have experience as an expert witness at VCAT and I’m a member of the Building Dispute Practitioners’ Society as well as being a fully licenced and insured plumber.

“Roofing has been my only occupation since school, I love travelling to different locations every day and meeting all kinds of people.

“It’s nice to be able to provide people with good advice and I like working at heights, as you get a great view every day.”
