The Master Builders Association of Victoria awarded Metricon with the title of Residential Builder of the Year for the South West region at their recent annual celebration of building excellence.

Metricon’s Delta 25 on display in Mt Duneed, the Amira 28BP on display in Lara and a custom home in Point Lonsdale also took home awards.

The Master Builder’s judging panel were impressed with the exceptional build quality and contemporary flexible family living offered in all three designs.

Metricon general manager for regional Victoria Phil Barrett said that Metricon had a proud 40-year history of creating homes for Australian families to love where they live.

“To receive this continued recognition for our workmanship, design, innovation and ongoing dedication to the highest standards on and off the worksite, is a thrill and a credit to our South West regional team.

“Entering the MBA awards allows us to showcase what we do and how proud we are of our team and the outstanding homes we have built.”

“The best custom home win for the impressive Akuna at Point Lonsdale is very exciting on a few fronts.

“While this unique home is not based on one of our current standard range homes, it is a true representation of Metricon’s design and build capabilities.

“Many of the design elements of this amazing home are now being introduced to our standard range.

“The smart single level floorplan of the Delta in Mt Duneed has been cleverly designed for a growing family with its bedrooms located along one side of the home, providing a light filled open layout with living areas on the other side.

“The integrated dinning and family room, complemented by a fabulous kitchen, are also key features of this winning design.

“The Amira 28BP offers spacious open plan living, with integrated kitchen, family and dining areas that flow seamlessly to an outdoor room, perfect for entertaining all year round. At the front of the home the private master suite with walk-in-robe and ensuite provides a great retreat.”

Metricon celebrated the construction of over 7,000 new homes in regional Victoria earlier this year.

After moving into the Geelong region more than 14 years ago, the company now employs more than 80 people in the region alone, as well as an excess of more than 250 locals tradespeople, who are all committed to producing high quality homes.

“Our regional teams are comprised of local staff, site managers, service and warranty and trades, meaning that they too are part of the community where so many people are deciding to build beautiful new homes,” Mr Barrett said.

“The past 14 years has seen the regional market expand dramatically, we now have 28 display homes spanning across regional Victoria, in addition to three regional Studio Ms and nine offices.”
