A pair of Mount Duneed display homes have won recognition as the best in the state at Master Builders Victoria’s Excellence in Housing Awards.

Long Island Homes scooped best display home awards for the $350,000-$500,000 category and the $500,000-$750,000 class at Friday night’s ceremony at Crown Melbourne in front of nearly 100 guests.

Awards went to the Portsea 290 and Miami 420 designs, which Long Island Homes pitches as an appealing opportunity for a range of potential buyers.

“Two displays which are perfect sizes for first home buyers, young families, investors and downsizers,” the builder stated.

“[They are] large enough to comfortably enjoy your lifestyle, but not too large requiring many hours of cleaning.”

The Melbourne-based builder has a display centre at 225 Sovereign Drive, Mount Duneed, in the Warralily estate.

MBV chief executive officer Rebecca Casson said this year’s awards again showcased the high-quality of building across Victoria that continues despite industry pressures.

“Through another difficult year, our Excellence in Housing Awards were again brimming with outstanding homes.

“The residential projects showcased in this year’s awards were awe-inspiring.

“MBV congratulates all winners and nominees, together with all our wonderful members, who further enhanced in 2022 the reputation of what a Master Builder is capable of creating.”

In other results, another Melbourne-based builder Coben Building was named Master Builder of the Year – Residential for a stunning multi-unit development in Kew.

A project at Traralgon earned Virtue homes the regional builder of the year, while south-east Melbourne’s Anthony Larne was young builder of the year.
