Mute chaos and invite calm with new range

November 14, 2018 BY

The Wholeself palette has been designed to mute chaos and invite calm into one’s home.

Soft, tranquil and calming are words that spring to mind when looking at Dulux’s summer colour trends for 2019.

In what’s arguably a minimalist palette of gentle colours, Dulux has dedicated a lot of time and research in formulating its summer hue trends.

Blended with the purpose of promoting self-care and relaxation, it’s no wonder the colours featured in the palette emit such a soothing and peaceful aura.

Inspired by the wellness movement – which is rapidly influencing the design world – the Wholeself palette is one of four to appear in the 2019 Dulux Colour Forecast ‘Filter.’

The collection combines muted shades of pale pinks and warm neutrals, heightened by touches of subtle citrus and a mint infused blue-green.

Dulux colour and communications manager Andrea Lucena-Orr believes the palette has a serene yet cocooning feel, serving as a quiet reminder to take care and practice self-love.

“The Wholeself palette is all about slowing down and tuning into the things that really matter.

“Wellness has emerged as a major theme in the design world for 2019, with many of us looking to switch off our digital devices and focus on nurturing our tired bodies and spirit. The Wholeself palette brings this theme to life.”

A significantly different palette to last season’s, where playful bright colours were the primary influence, the Wholeself palette exists with a rather meaningful energy.

“Rather than looking outward for inspiration, this season’s understated colours and intriguing textures draw you inwards and encourage moments of stillness and mindfulness,” Andrea said.
