SOME know it as the old Mexican restaurant, few willn remember it surviving the fires in 1940, but nowadays it is well and truly recognised as the home of Nelson Mortgages and Financial.

“We’re proud of the Nelson office’s rich history on the Surf Coast community, which was why when we renovated it, we maintained all of its original charm and features, it makes sense for us to be in the middle of town and accessible to everyone,” Paul Nelson said.

Over the past 12 years Paul and Nicole Nelson have been helping local families, couples, investors and retirees to feel in control of their financial future.

After over 15 years in the mortgage industry and working with major banks, and with a genuine passion for education, Paul wanted to do things a little differently.

And it’s that genuine desire to help and to create long-lasting relationships that continues to set Nelson Mortgages apart.

“While a lot of our clients come to us to tackle a milestone event, like a new home or renovation or investment property to kick off their wealth creation, our focus is on support and education over the entire journey or even lifetime.

Paul’s focus on empowering his clients with information and knowledge starts with what has become the signature Nelson client process.

Using a live interactive TV, Paul takes each client through their own scenario, using easy-to-understand budgeting and planning tools, laying out the facts and figures and referencing different lenders to use present rates.

“This process keeps clients involved and is very visual, they can see scenarios based on their real information, it’s live and dynamic.

“In fact, we find that our clients join in the process and help create their own financial plan working on the Interactive screen.”
