Armstrong Creek is the third most popular suburb for new builds in Victoria, according to Porter Davis Homes.

Data from the HIA award-winning builder revealed their top five selling suburbs in the 2018 to 2019 financial year to date were Strathtulloh in Melbourne’s west, followed by Truganina, Armstrong Creek, then Mambourin and Werribee.

Armstrong Creek Estate resident, Marcail Clark says that she’s not surprised by the popularity of Armstrong Creek among buyers, with its great proximity to both the Surf Coast and Geelong City.

“What I love is the family and community feel, with playgrounds, parks and public transport all close by, which is handy for my husband who commutes to Melbourne on the train,” she said.

Ms Clark also attributed Armstrong Creek’s boom to the amenities and great design of infrastructure in the new area.

“It’s a great place for families wanting their kids to play on the streets and make friends with their neighbours.”

Marcail and her family built a Porter Davis home in the Armstrong Creek growth corridor at Mt Duneed earlier this year and have been pleased to offer tips and advice to those considering building or moving to the area.

The Armstrong Creek growth corridor includes the rapidly emerging suburbs of Mount Duneed, Charlemont and Armstrong Creek.

Porter Davis Homes have completed 152 homes in these areas with 14 new homes under construction.

The population is now punching through the 10,000 point. At completion, the Armstrong Creek growth area is expected to provide housing for between 55,000 to 65,000 people, which is approximately 22,000 residential homes with a focus on walkability, public transport provision and sustainable water use.
