Natural Real Estate senior sales consultant Craig Kerr.

TELL us about your real estate journey.

It all kicked off in June 1999 back in Mildura, where I grew up. The local agency was growing and decided to take a chance on a mature-age rookie—me! Six years later, my wife and I started our own agency. We grew that team from four people to twenty and eventually sold the business at the end of 2021 before making the move to Torquay.

Why real estate? What drew you to the industry?

At first, it was more of a “why not?” I was working as a teacher’s aide at the time and open to something new. But once I got into real estate, I realised how much having a place to call your own means to people. Property’s one of the most talked-about topics around any barbecue. I love being part of those conversations and the idea that anyone can potentially grow their own wealth through real estate.

What’s a naturally random fact about you?

I’m one of 13 kids: eight boys and five girls. You don’t see that too often these days. It was a humble upbringing, full of chaos and care. We’re all still close, and the childhood stories are legendary.

How long have you lived on the Surf Coast and what do you love about it?

We’ve been living here for three years, but we’ve had a connection to the area for much longer. We used to bring our kids here on holidays, so it always felt like a second home. It’s changed a lot, and while not everyone’s a fan of the growth, I see it as a natural part of what makes the area so vibrant.

What can people expect when working with you?

I’ve always prided myself on being transparent. I take the time to listen, then work with my clients to chart the best path forward. That comes from 25 years of experience. Not every real estate conversation is easy – but I’ve never had anyone tell me they were disappointed with how I’ve looked after them.
