THIS year, the Surf Coast Community Bank is proudly celebrating their 20th year of operation since initial opening Winchelsea in 2003.

The humbling journey of growing from the local community need for a “bricks and mortar” bank in a regional town was led by foundation directors.

The directors recognised that a business is only as good as its staff, which led to the inaugural appointment of senior branch manager Jeremy Morris and supervisor Sally Dyer.

Mr Morris and Ms Dyer, along with the branch, are now celebrating their 20th year of service and still playing an integral role in their community.

The longevity of the staffing in this business is unmatched with many long term staff members having the joy of assisting customers with their banking journey by assisting with the purchase of first cars/homes, to then opening accounts for their children and now grandchildren.

It’s well known that people bank with people, which has been the key to the success of the Surf Coast Community Bank branch network. The staff make banking a seamless and enjoyable experience which has people coming back repeatably and recommending their friends and family to do the same.

Mr Morris and Ms Dyer have a passion that is contagious. They have successfully driven the bank from strength to strength ,which then allows the bank to invest the profits back into the community in the form of grants and seed funding.

Di, Jeremey and Sally celebrate the bank’s eighth birthday.

To date, Surf Coast Community Bank has contributed back into the Surf Coast catchment in excess of $3.2 million and returned annual dividends to the local shareholders.

Without all the great staff employed throughout the life of the business, they could not be who they are today. This is relationship banking at its finest. Thank you to the present team: Jeremy (20 years), Sally (20), Kim (15), Matilda (11), Bec (10), Julie, Kelly, Josie, Rob, Moira, Caitlyn, Kezia, Ebony, Daniel, Ali, Julia, Lisa, Libby and Kealy.
