Tech firm sells to real estate giant
Geelong-based real estate marketing platform Plezzel is set to sell to industry heavyweight CoreLogic in a deal announced last month.
Plezzel founders, husband and wife entrepreneurs Greg and Cecille McCutcheon, announced in mid-December that they had signed an acquisition agreement with CoreLogic, with the deal subject to regulatory approval.
Plezzel is a software platform started up in 2011 that provides services including customisable digital advertising, marketing support and inquiry responses to thousands of real estate agents across Australia.
The Geelong couple promised that existing clients “can expect the same excellent service and product offering from the Plezzel team” following the takeover.
The McCutcheons said they were looking forward to beginning the new partnership in 2023, promising “industry-leading tech solutions” that would take its client support “to the next level and beyond”.
“This is an exciting development for Plezzel and we look forward to working with CoreLogic to develop innovative digital products that meet the needs of agents in our industry,” Mrs McCutcheon said.
“With significant industry experience, our team is excited to help real estate agents generate more listings and appraisals, and sell property more effectively,” Mr McCutcheon added.
CoreLogic International chief executive officer Lisa Claes said the platform would complement the company’s existing software products.
“The proposed acquisition of Plezzel once complete, is expected to support the real estate industry through the use of data and sophisticated technology solutions,” she said.
“Our focus is unequivocally on the future and sourcing the best opportunities that will foster success and enable our real estate partners to engage, advertise and convert leads.”
CoreLogic said it expected to finalise the deal early this year subject to conditions including a green light from industry regulators.
