THE size of Charlemont is about 10.5 square kilometres with the population recorded at 1,798 in 2011. By the 2016 Census, the population was 364, showing a population decline of 80 per cent in the area during that time (this anomaly is due to boundary changes as part of the Armstrong Creek growth corridor implementation).
Like the neighbouring emerging suburbs of Armstrong Creek and Mount Duneed, Charlemont has rapidly changed from a pastoral and rural living area to more intensive urban living area housing more than 1,000 residents with its southern border at Boundary Road.
There have been 661 land sales recorded in the suburb of Charlemont since 2016.
Popular residential estate Charlemont Rise is the most significant development in this emerging suburb with another leading development, Ashbury Estate, starting at Charlemont’s southern boundary.
