WITH the tree-change town of Winchelsea on the watchlist for buyers looking for the hinterland lifestyle, the team at McCartney Real Estate is off to a great start with their new agency hitting the ground running.

In front of a crowd of about 40 people the auctioneer, Geoff Bennett, presented the property to the market with the assistance of John McMahon and Graeme McCartney.

Bidding quickly intensified as four parties exchanged bids until the property was declared on the market at $ 413,000.

Two bidders continued to fight it out, with the property knocked down to the winning bidder for $426,500.

“This sale is yet another sign of the growing popularity of Winchelsea with our office selling two other properties for excellent prices in the week prior,” Mr Bennett said.
