Get up close to Kangaroos

June 16, 2023 BY

Due to the demand, tours now operate seven days a week.

Established in 1950, Anglesea Golf Club offers a 6,028m 18-hole golf course, and we are known worldwide for our population of 300 eastern grey kangaroos.

In 2015 the club started our Kangaroo Tours to safely allow visitors to see our kangaroo population. We purchased a six-seater golf cart and volunteers were trained in how to conduct tours.

Since then, due to the demand for tours we now operate seven days a week between weekdays from 11am-3pm and weekends from 10am-4pm.

Kangaroo tours at Anglesea Golf Course started in 2015.

We have two 14-seater golf carts and a roster of 33 volunteers. Since its inception we have had visitors from more than 40 countries and provided tours for 55,000 visitors.

Our 25-minute Roo Tours are run by experienced tour guides who are full of information about the needs, habits, and welfare of the kangaroos.

Visitors can have a light snack or meal in our Bistro and enjoy the views over the course including the kangaroos grazing on the fairways.

After visiting the Bistro, try our 18 Hole Mini Golf – it’s not only a fun activity for the kids, but also popular with adults.

The 18-hole mini-golf course is designed with every level of player in mind.

Set atop rolling fairways in a bush setting, our 18-hole Mini Golf invites people of all ages for a unique outdoor experience.

Our mini-golf course is designed with every level of player in mind, with some holes offering the absolute beginner a “hole in one” opportunity, while other holes offer the most competitive golfer the ultimate challenge!

Our family friendly venue is popular for birthday parties, groups and visitors.

The Clubhouse is open daily from 11am on weekdays and 10am on weekends to enjoy a coffee break, beverage, lunch or dinner.
