Amy’s ride draws a crowd
THOUSANDS of riders got on their bikes and rode the Great Ocean Road at the weekend during the 2017 Amy’s Gran Fondo.
The annual cycling event drew thousands of riders and spectators to Lorne, which hosted Amy’s Otways Criterium and the Amy’s Wall hill-climb on Saturday.
There were five rides on Sunday – the 120km Amy’s Gran Fondo, running anti-clockwise from Lorne to Apollo Bay and back; the 65km Amy’s Gravel Fondo, a gravel event on a nontechnical course through the rainforests of the Otway Ranges that starts and finishes in Apollo Bay; the 45km Medio Fondo from Apollo Bay to Lorne; and two 14km Family Fondo rides, starting in Lorne and Apollo Bay.
