Anglesea Golf Club – October 25, 2018

ON WEDNESDAY, October 17 the men played Stableford. The Men’s A Grade Winner was David Lewis with 40 points while Allan Foster finished runner up with 36 points on a countback. The B Grade winner was Garry Beurteaux with 41 points from Runner Up Vincent Attardi who scored 38 points. Jack Power won C Grade with 42 points from Runner Up Mike Grossman who scored 40 points. Ball rundown to 36 points on a countback. NTPs: 3rd Chris Sawyer, 6th Shane Thompson, and Jackpot 16th Graeme Mills.

On Thursday, October 18 the women played Par. The A Grade winner was Noelene Dumbrell with square from Runner Up Ann Stokes who returned -2. Robyn Schepers won B Grade with +1 from Runner Up Lesley McMaster who scored -1. Irena Karpala won C Grade (again!) with a score of +1 while Heather Nancarrow finished Runner Up with +1. Ball rundown to -3 on a countback. NTPs: 3rd Sue Bowler, 6th Roberta Lockyer, 13th Judy Talbot and 16th Margot Parton. Thursday was the final round of the eclectic; stay tuned for the results.

On Saturday, October 20, the men and women played Par. The Men’s A Grade Winner was Allan Foster with + from Sam Horne who finished Runner Up with +3. The B Grade winner was Gerard Waller with +2 on a countback from B Grade Runner up Peter Malone who also scored +2. David Elam won C Grade with square on a countback from Runner Up Jack Bone who also scored square. Ball rundown to square on a countback. The Women’s Winner was Jill Dilger with -2. Ball rundown to -2. NTPs: 3rd Adrian Lumb, 6th Dave Mithen, 13th Luke Young and Jackpot 16th Peter Hester.

Sunday, October 21 marked the start of Anglesea Golf Club’s 64th Open Week. A Mixed Pinehurst event was played, sponsored by Aged Care Services Australia Group. The Gross winner was John Owen and Caroline Dickins with 75 gross. The nett winners were Sam Horne and Helen Stewart with a score of 68 ¾. The Nett Runners Up were Geoff Howlett & Barbara Howlett with 69 ¼ nett while David Calvert & Jill Emerson finished third with 70 ¼ nett. NTPs: 3rd John Surridge, 6th Tony French, 13th Andrew Daffy, and 16th Geoff Howlett.
