Anglesea Golf Club – September 27, 2018

ON Wednesday 19 September the Men played Stableford. The Men’s A Grade winner was John Mooney with 39 points on a countback from David Calvert who also finished runner-up with 39 points on a countback. The B Grade winner was Colin Jarratt with 38 points from runner-up Geoff Trethowan who scored 37 points. Bernard Gibbons won C Grade with 36 points from runner-up Garry Shug who scored 35 points finishing runner-up on a countback. Ball rundown to 34 points on a countback. David Lewis provided the highlight of the day with an eagle on the 1st hole. NTPs: 3rd John Mooney, 6th Roger Trevaskis (again!), 13th Peter Calvert and Jackpot 16th Peter Calvert.

On Thursday 20 September the Women hosted a very successful Charity Day. Thanks to all who helped make the day a success. The winners were Pam Ledgerd, Heather Nancarrow, Biddy Tuohey & Allanah Boston with 97 points, on a countback from runner-ups Marg Hales, Brenda Balderstone, Vicky Lloyd & Suellen Eskrigge who also scored 97 points. NTPs: 3rd Sally Cleary, 6th Sally Cleary, 13th Barb Gordon and 16th Suellen Eskrigge.

On Saturday 22 September the Men and Women played Par. The Men’s A Grade winner was Ian Lewtas with +1 while Chris Duffield finished runner-up with square. The B Grade winner was Pete Griffiths with a whopping +5. Mark Heath finished B Grade Runner up with +3 Alan Smith won C Grade with +1. Geoff Bell finished runner-up with -1 on a countback. Ball rundown to -1 on a countback. The Women’s winner was Liz Lee with -3. Ball rundown to -3. NTPs: 3rd Alan Smith, 6th Mark Couzens, 13th Paul Johnstone and Jackpot 16th Les Cooper. The final of the Nicholas O’Donohue trophy took place with Frank Funder and Bernie Dilger prevailing 4/3 over Paul Manson and Stuart Leigh. Congratulations Frank and Bernie.

On Sunday 23 September a Men’s and Women’s Stableford event was played. The Men’s winner was Brandon McClelland with 37 points. Richard Murrie finished runner-up with 36. Ball rundown to 34 points. The Women’s winner was Nancye Warhurst with 32 points. Ball rundown to 32 points. We have the Totally 80’s Band back at the Club on Saturday October 6 – Dinner & Show $59.00.
