Barça Academy Geelong will bring one of the world’s most respected football training programs to the region this spring, offering young players a rare opportunity to train under official FC Barcelona coaches.

The five-day camp at Myers Reserve, running from 22 to 26 September, will be led by professionals from Spain, delivering the same methods used at La Masia, Barcelona’s legendary youth academy.

While many international programs target only capital cities, Barça Academy is taking a different approach.

“Our mission is to make football excellence accessible. Not just in capitals, but in communities like Geelong that are full of potential,” said Marina, part of the academy’s Australian expansion team.

Training will focus on decision-making, technical ability and tactical awareness, with small-sided games, position-specific drills and team exercises. The academy’s philosophy also emphasises humility, respect and teamwork.

Barça Academy Geelong offers more than local training. Standout participants from camps worldwide may be invited to represent the academy at international tournaments or travel to Spain to compete against local teams. More than 350 Australians have taken part in these global experiences so far.

“Our goal is to give Australian players a truly immersive experience of how we live football in Barcelona. It’s part of our culture,” Marina said.

Registrations for the Geelong camp are open now.
