Cats to move forward after Lions defeat
GEELONG Cats coach Chris Scott said his side won’t be dwelling too long on last Friday’s loss to the Brisbane Lions.
The Cats went down by 41 points in Patrick Dangerfield’s 350th AFL match, unable to wrestle the momentum in key moments of the game.
Brisbane led at every change throughout the match, with forwards Logan Morris, Cam Rayner and Kai Lohmann getting off the chain for the visitors.
For Geelong, Jeremy Cameron kicked four goals, while Bailey Smith, Max Holmes and Tom Atkins also put in their best efforts.
“We played a really good team and they were sharp and we were the opposite,” Cats coach Chris Scott said.
“We thought we were getting enough chances to be competitive, but it just felt like one of those nights where, I sort of said this to the players, what could go wrong did go wrong.
“That happens, it happens to the best teams.
“Moving forward you sit back and think okay, we are 10-5 going into the bye, we have got opportunity. I don’t think we will be dwelling on this one for too long.”
Geelong will bounce out of the Round 16 bye by lining up against Richmond at GMHBA Stadium on July 5.
