Torquay’s Adam Conquest won the overall male division of the “Kondak” Triathlon in a time of 44 minutes and 13 seconds.

TORQUAY athlete Adam Conquest beat last year’s “Kondak” Triathlon winner by an impressive half a minute.

Conquest gave an outstanding performance, taking out the male division category with a time of 44 minutes and 13 seconds – 30 seconds faster than 2016 winner Kirby Bourke in 44 minutes and 44 seconds.

“It’s fantastic to have a triathlon based on our coast, with the course taking in some amazing views along 13th Beach, Barwon Heads and Ocean Grove,” Conquest said.

“The event atmosphere down at Barwon Heads is terrific and with large crowds turning out to cheer on family and friends it really encompasses the lifestyle we enjoy on the coast.”

During the third annual 13th Beach Health Services “Kondak” Triathlon, more than 650 competitors took on the 400-metre swim, 14-kilometre cycle, and 4.4-kilometre run.

Catherine Allison, of Barwon Heads, won her division and recorded the fastest overall female time of 50 minutes and 19 seconds.
