Cordner wins again for Torquay Coastal Boxing
FIGHTERS from Torquay Coastal Boxing have found some success after a trip up north, winning two of their four fights at about in Wodonga.
Michael Cordner knocked out his opponent in the third round to take victory, while Logan Drill was declared the winner by unanimous decision.
Torquay Coastal Boxing’s Ashley Lynch said the fights drew a big crowd to the Albury Showgrounds, and Cordner’s victory was his second knockout in a row.
“We’re looking to turn him pro over the next six months; he’d be Torquay’s first pro boxer.”
He said he was impressed by the efforts of his losing fighters, Euan Kennedy and Saskia Leahy, and said the long trip to and from Wodonga was worth it.
“It was a terrific learning experience we all went up together on the same bus and stayed at the same hotel.”
