WATCH out for the details of an event on Melbourne Cup Day. It is the fabulous Wine Skins event. The format is a Texan Stableford Multiplier with four bottles of wine on offer for each hole.

Monday August 20: Men Stableford: 60 Players – Dean Armstrong (11) continued the good form from the back 9 to finish with 39, wining on countback from Bryson Wells (24).

Women: 16 Players – Georgie Sanders (23) won by one with 32 from Anne Collis (20) on 31. NTP: 8th – Bernadette Thomas (0.90m), 17th – And Golden Shot Winner – Dean Armstrong (1.76m & $54)

Tuesday August 21: Women 9 Holes Stableford: 32 Players – Karen Egan 18, Diane Smith 17.

Wednesday August 22: Men Stableford Green Tees: – 156 Players. A) Bernie Ryan (5) had a day out with 46 from Gavin Braybrook (7) 44. B) Jeff Salmon (14) also chalked up 46 from Ron Acreman (18) 44. C) Craig Robinson (19) 45 from Gordon Boddy (36) 44 countback.

Friday. GISSA Schools Event and Mixed Stableford 27 Players: Tom Thiele 12 (Barwon Heads GC) won with 37 from another visitor, Angus O’Brien 5, (13th Beach) 36. Mixed Stableford: 6 Players – Tim Morris (25) 34.
