THE Melbourne Cup Wine Skins competition has only a few vacancies left. More than 70 bottles of wine are on offer in this Texan Multiplier event. Ring the Pro Shop and our friendly staff will assist you.

Another successful Curlewis Open week has gone by with our course looking absolutely lush and a pleasure to play on. Our ground staff are to be congratulated.

Round of the Week: Tyson Higgins with 44 points on Sunday.

Eagles: Denis Penny on the 3rd and Martin Frankovic and David Gibbons also enjoyed eagles on the 10th with all 3 scored on Wednesday. Cameron Burn on the 1st and Peter Meyer on the 14th, both on Saturday.

Sunday, October 21, Mxed S’Ford, 52 Players: Tyson Higgins (21) had a round to remember with 44. Jon Anglin (21) followed him with 41. Les Port (16) was 3rd with 40.

Monday, October 22, Men S’Ford, 74 Players: A) Philip Bee (14) won by 3 with a fine score of 43. Next best was Sam Loftus (8) on 40. B Grade went to Mark Holroyd (20) with 39 from Brian Olsson (24) on 38 C/B. Women: 20 Players – Gill Morrison (14) made great use of her putting lesson to win by 6 with 40. Pam Roberts (19) followed her with 34 C/B. NTP: 8th – Roger Gill (1.96m), 17th and Golden Shot Winner – Daz Luke (3.1m and $76)

Tuesday, October 23, Women 9 Holes, 37 Players: Leila Stecher 20; Bernie Alsop 19 points.

Wednesday, October 24, Men’s Geelong Cup Day Open S’Ford, 143 Players: A) Tim Ludowyk (9) won by one with 39 from Dennis Biscan (12) 38. B) Geoff Fiddian (16) shot 41 with Craig Robinson (21) close behind on 40. C Grade went to Ike Kulbars (22) on C/B with 40 from wily Veteran Colin McKenzie. NTP: 4th – Nathan Ainley (4m), 8th – Paul Kelly (3.02m), 13th – Michael Davies (1.8m), 17th and Golden Shot Winner – Phillip Larcombe (0.96m and $124).

Thursday, October 25, Women’s Stroke and Round 1 of Club Championship: Gill Morrison (13) continued the good form to win A Grade with 73. Jan Brown (23) followed with 74. B Grade went to Margaret Scudamore (36) with 73 from Bernie Alsop (38) 77 C/B. NTP: 4th – Vicki Carnie (Pizza On Madeley); 8th – Wendy Tottenham; 13th – Kaye Kelly (Yes Said The Seal Wine); 17th and Golden Shot Winner – Claire McKay (1.08m and $48).

Saturday, October 27, Men’s Stroke and 2nd round of Club Championships, 152 Players: A) Josh Vrbovski (6) 69; Stuart McKee (10) 70 C/B. B) Ashley Shaw (13) 68; Colin Gillett (16) 70 C/B. C). Veteran Bill Sommers (30) had the round of the day with 67 from Rowan Broad (27) 74 C/B. Women S’Ford; 12 Players. Wendy McDonald (31) pipped Gill Morrison by 2 with 35 points.
