Curlewis Golf Club – November 9, 2017

THE Greens are getting quicker after the recent renovation work and the fairways are certainly looking a treat.

It shouldn’t be long before the new bunkers are in play as well. Our ground staff are to be congratulated along with the crew from Ogilvy, Clayton, Cocking and Mead.

Also, a special mention to our hearty band of volunteers, “Bish”, Bernie and Ian who are always there to lend a hand.

Sunday October 29: Stableford: 14 Players – Robert Ryan (10) 38; Chris Haigh (15) 37.

Monday October 30: Men PAR: 57 Players – Rob Riley (8) won with +3 on countback from David Harris (14). Next best was Ron Acreman (22) also on +3.

Women: 20 Players – Anne Collis (20) +2 from Elaine Barker (23) +1 countback.

NTP: 8th – Ron Acreman, 17th – Alan Taylor, Golden Shot on 17th – Alan Taylor ($63).

Tuesday October 31: Women 9 Hole Stroke: (Front 9) – 33 Players – Kaye Kelly needed a countback to win with 35 from Anne Howard.

Wednesday November 1: Men Stableford & Round 3 of the Eric Dohnt Trophy: 132 Players – A Grade: Murray Condie (9) won by 2 with 41 from Bernie Den Besten (11) 39. B Grade: Bob Brodie (18) won on countback with 40 from Daz Luke (18). C Grade: Rod Kerger (27) also won by 2 with 41 from Daryl Clyne (21) 39.

Green Tees: 5 Players – John Quirk (21) 44. NTP: 4th –Tony Hewitt, 8th – Josh Vrbovski, 13th – Russell Tate, 17th – Bryan Cairns Golden Shot on 17th: Bryan Cairns ($111).

Thursday November 2: Women Stroke: 52 Players – A Grade – Gill Morrison (18) won by 3 with 75 from Pip Williams (15) 78. B Grade went to Sheryl Mackie (22) on countback with 75 from Krishna Selvalingam (26).

NTP: 4th – Elaine Barker, 8th – Lorraine Wright, 13th – Vicki Carnie (Grassy Point Wine), 17th – Jay Magee (Pizza on Madeley),), Golden Shot on 17th – Jay Magee ($52).

Saturday November 4: Men Stroke: 159 Players – A Grade: Will Johnston (10) won on countback with 70 from Gavin Braybrook (10). Great scores in B Grade saw Ziggy Witcombe (15) win with 65 from Ian Luehman (11) on 67. Tony Greer (17) also had a good score of 67 to take C Grade from Tony Alvaro (20) 69.

Women: 20 Players – Wendy Tottenham (6) won by 2 with 75 from Kaye Dove (19) 75.
