Drysdale face off against North Geelong in grand final
Drysdale will play North Geelong in the 2019 Division 2 Women’s grand final on Sunday, with the game will kick off at 12.50pm at Bisinella Oval.
Drysdale coach Stuart Craven said that while his team was the underdog, he felt positive about their chances.
“We’re ready to go,” Craven said.
“We know we’re facing a huge challenge in North Geelong, who are a quality side. But the girls have learned something every time we’ve played them and we’re really pleased with last week’s effort in the prelim final, which was a very hard-fought win over St Mary’s.”
Drysdale has come a long way this year. They narrowly missed out on the finals in 2018, but have regrouped brilliantly this year to finish second.
Throughout both the finals and the normal season, Drysdale has won all but three games, but all three of those games have come against North Geelong.
North Geelong has been imperious in Division 2 this year. Not only have they gone through the season undefeated, but have done so with an incredible percentage of 1,449.37.
In fact, in six of their games they have held their opposition scoreless.
However, the closest they came to defeat was when they came up against Drysdale in the first round of the season.
Drysdale led in the first three quarters, but North Geelong finished strongly to win 44-28.
