THE Geelong Cricket Club is celebrating the selection of 30 of its talented junior players into the 2025/2026 Cricket Victoria Emerging Player Programs.

The Emerging Players squads have been selected based on performance in the premier cricket pathway competitions, involving Premier Cricket Clubs only.

The selected players come from a selection of Geelong’s high performing junior teams, including ten Under 16 Girls players from the state final winning Marg Jennings team and eight Under 19 male players from the state final winning Under 18 team.

An additional 12 players have been included from the successful Under 19 Girls program and Under 17 Dowling Squad which were state runners up this year.

Geelong Cricket Club secretary Jenny Sewell congratulated all players on their hard work and dedication.

“This outstanding representation is a testament to the strength of our development pathways and the dedication of our coaching staff.

“We take immense pride in providing opportunities for our young athletes to grow, perform, and be recognised at the highest levels.

“These selections reflect the strong foundations and high-performance standards embedded in our programs.”

The Emerging Player Programs is structured to guide young players through a pathway, exposing them to high-level competition.

Athletes will work with national and state level coaches as well as former first-class players on the technical, tactical, physical, and mental skills necessary for professional cricket.

The various programs will be rolled out over the coming months, before National Championships take place in December and January 2026.
