GEELONG United have announced their 2026 Big V Youth League squads as the official preseason preparation nears.
The men’s squad was finalised to 17 players and the women’s to 13, with four additional development players per side.
Domestic club YMCA is well represented in both squads, with a combined 11 players listed.
There are a mix of returning and fresh faces in the respective squads, as some phase out of the age bracket and others enter it.
Men’s captain Bailey Bruce headlines the squad, with the shifty guard looking to take another leap after averaging 16.2 points last season. Bruce also spent time with Geelong’s NBL1 side.
Sharpshooter Jay Posterino and forward Ryan Drinkwater are set to feature again for United as top-agers, and will likely move to and from the NBL1 team throughout
the year.
After featuring in the Championship division for the first time, Geelong will look to build on their 11th-place finish last season.
Guard Poppy Stevens leads the Women’s squad, with the 17-year-old also a development player for Geelong’s WNBL side this season. Jasmine King will suit up again in 2026 after averaging 17 points last season.
After a second-place finish in the second division, United unfortunately failed to make the grand final last year and will look to push further into the postseason in 2026.
Both squads will ramp up their training in the coming months ahead of the season’s commencement in mid-March 2026.
