A Big V champion is set to join the Bellarine Storm in 2024 as part of the Bellarine Storm’s latest offseason acquisition.

Former Wyndham Big V Championship Men’s player Kavione Green is making the move down to the Bellarine Peninsula, jumping aboard head coach Luke Beauglehall’s side for next season.

“I am blessed and grateful for the opportunity to join the club,” Green said.

“My expectation is to compete at a winning level and also be a pioneer within the club’s youth, leading and encouraging them.

“On court, I look forward to adding to the dynamic of the team with my ability to play both sides of the ball and a will to win is what I bring to the team.”

Green made the move back to Australia in 2020, earning minutes for Southern Peninsula in the Division 1 Men’s competition, before moving to Wyndham.

After two successful seasons at Wyndham, the six-foot-three guard/forward averaged a double-double, at 15 points and 10 rebounds per game.

Green also led rebounding for his team in 2023, pulling down 9.13 boards per contest for the season.

“KG has proven himself at this level as a quality player, with a strong presence defensively, winning the Big V Championship Men Best Defensive Player award this last season and will be a good fit for our roster for the coming season,” Storm general Manager Aaron Lothian said.

“We can’t wait to get KG into the mix and go to work with him as soon as he touches down in Australia early in 2024.”

Green joins former Supercats Liam McInerney and Nick Velasquez as recent signings to Beauglehall’s line up for 2024.
