OCEAN Grove will enter their first under-18 girls’ team into the AFL Barwon juniors, with the club’s numbers booming in the lead-up to round one.

The Grubbers have almost five full junior teams with two under-14 and two under-16 outfits.

The under-18s begin today (Friday, April 11), while the under-14s and under-16s start on April 27.

The club, which is aiming to return to the senior women’s competition in 2026, is inviting players of all groups to get involved.

“Whether you’re new to the game or have prior experience, we offer an inclusive and supportive environment where young women can develop their skills, build lasting friendships, and grow both on and off the field,” the club stated.

“We proudly provide opportunities for girls from all backgrounds to engage with the sport they love.”

Training is at the Ocean Grove Memorial Oval under the new lights, with under-14s and under-16s on from 5.15pm to 6.30pm each Tuesday and Thursday.

The under-18s train on Tuesdays from 6.15pm to 7.30pm.

The Grubbers launched their junior female football teams in 2017.
