Happy Father’s Day winning feeling
LOCAL Geelong, Bellarine and Melbourne Cup winning trainer Danny O’Brien started the IGA Liquor Father’s Day Races at the Geelong Racing Club on Sunday with a special gift in the first.
Well-known and part time Surf Coast resident Damien Oliver, pictured right, rode $11:1 Young Werther first past the post, and went on to ride a treble for the day, one of those a double with O’Brien.
The Geelong Racing Club, along with the entire Racing Industry, have continued to operate successfully throughout COVID-19 with very stringent rules in place for each meet, which includes no patrons or owners.
O’Brien, from Barwon Heads, won his first Melbourne Cup with Vow and Declare in 2019.
