GEELONG fans will see a new face in the hoops in 2025, with the AFL club securing utility Jack Martin as a delisted free agent earlier this month.

The 29-year-old moves to the Cats after playing 54 games across five seasons with Carlton and 97 games at the Gold Coast Suns.

During his career, Martin has played a variety of roles, anywhere from half back to half forward, while also proving to be a strong midfielder.

His elite goal sense has seen him kick 133 goals at AFL level, including bags of four goals on five occasions.

The newest member of the Cats said he couldn’t wait to get stuck into pre-season in anticipation for a huge 2025 season.

“It’s another chapter in my playing career. It’s a great football club and seems like a fantastic community.

“There’s no big skyscrapers here or trams, you feel like you’re in the country. Everything is 10 minutes away!

“Geelong fans get signing, the new grandstand looks amazing, and I can’t wait to run out to a packed house in 2025.”

Cats general manager of football Andrew Mackie said the club was thrilled Martin would don the hoops next season.

“We are really excited about the prospect of bringing Jack into our football club, he is an experienced player and a quality person.

“He has already settled into Geelong with his young family, and we look forward to welcoming him into our football program.”

Martin is the third player signed by Geelong this off-season, joining Bailey Smith and Category B rookie Cillian Burke.
