The Tiger Drop, organised by the Torquay football, cricket and netball clubs, was held at Spring Creek Reserve last Sunday. A golf flag was set up in the middle of the oval, with tickets sold for each of the 1,000 golf balls dropped from a helicopter hovering above the flag.

The three closest balls to the flag won prizes of $15,000, $3,500 and $1,000, respectively. Congratulations went to Rod Costa in first, John and Anne Murfitt in second and Stef and Emma Tamassy in third. Torquay Football Club committee member Tim Carson announced the winners to an excited crowd, who also enjoyed feature performances from four live bands

The Australian Queen Tribute Show, The Bieber Experience, The INXS Tribute Show and popular local cover band Test Pilot Molly. Children enjoyed jumping castles and activities, while the adults laid out picnic blankets and chairs to enjoy the food stalls and drinks available. Proceeds from the event will be split equally between the football, netball and cricket clubs
