NIGHT TENNIS COMING

TENNIS Geelong is excited to announce the trial of an inter-club night tennis competition.

Following a broad survey conducted late last year, asking players for playing options that they would support, the results were analysed and it was decided to trial a six-week mixed competition on Tuesdays, with singles and doubles on Thursdays.

The plan is to help reduce issues relating to standard of play and provide players without a whole team the ability to enter, and also centralise play as much as possible – and to draw in new players, too.

This will all start in October (details available soon) and be presented to club delegates at Tennis Geelong’s August 1 general meeting, with entries open for individuals from then until mid-September.

Details, entry forms etc. will be sent to clubs, posted on Facebook and on the Tennis Geelong website, tennisgeelonginc.com.au.
