MORE than 30 of the Surf Coast and Bellarine’s best surfers will represent the region at the Victorian Longboard Titles this weekend.
The event at Point Impossible will see state champions crowned across more than ten surfing divisions from juniors to Over 70s.
Winners and top-place getters will earn themselves a spot on the Victorian team for the Australian Longboard Titles in July.
The Open Men’s and Open Women’s overall winner will also gain wildcard status into the WSL Bells Beach Longboard Classic in September.
Local surfers set to be featuring in the event include former world tour competitor Ben Considine Barwon Heads, Bea Conroy Point Lonsdale, past Australian champion Greg Brown Torquay and Rori Reyntjes Torquay.
Ben Considine said he had high aspirations of clinching the wildcard into the Bells event.
“I’m really excited to get back to Possos which really lends itself to the traditional elements of surfing and logging, noserides and great swooping turns.
“Stepping into a potential wildcard position at the main event is a huge goal of mine. I was lucky enough to have it last year and I think I’ve worked a lot more not only on my surfing, but my strategy competitively.
“Bells is always an amazing event, and I’d love to just do my thing and get to mix it with the world’s best.”
