PORTARLINGTON Football and  Netball Club (PFNC) will host its very first Demon ball drop day next month.

Friends, families, players and supporters are invited to take part on Sunday June 9 at noon by buying a ticket which has a number on it.

That number then gets written on a golf ball that will drop from a boom lift with all the other golf balls.

If your ball is closest to the golf pin on the ground, you will win a prize.

First prize is an impressive $5,000, second is $1,500 and third $500, whilen fourth prize to tenth are locally sourced prizes.

Tickets, which cost $100 and can admit two people, include a wristband and a golf ball number, and a complimentary beer, wine or soft drink at the bar during a designated time. There will be an acoustic musician playing throughout the day and also activities for the kids.

Tickets will be on sale every Thursday night and every home game until the date, or contact Shaun McPherson on 0431 773 942.

MEANWHILE, the Portarlington Demons are proud to be a part of and support Fight MND each and every year.

This year the club once again has its Big Freeze taking place on June 8 at their Round 9 home game. Buy an MND beanie and support Portarlington’s Team Monica Hayes, a local team taking part in Daniher’s Drive this October.

More than 96 cents in every dollar that the Fight MND Foundation receives goes directly to advocacy and medical research. Beanies are available in Portarlington from Bendigo Bank, Portovino Wine Bar, the post office, pharmacy and Port Pier Pizza, or phone Geoff on 0419 972 653, or email [email protected].
