OUR club assistant professional Tyson Myers has a Junior program for children with no golfing experience from 5-12 years starting on Saturday October 14 and running every Saturday 9.30-10.30am for 10 weeks. He is also running a six-week program, “Swing Fit”, for beginner ladies every Wednesday from October 11 to November 15. Anyone interested should call him at the pro shop.

Tuesday September 26, Men’s Stableford
A field of 148 men hit the course, and Darren Orr put together 41 points to capture Trophy of the Day and D Grade from Herb Picker with 36. Scott Hopgood won A Grade with 38 by a point from Jack Martin, evergreen Norm Evans topped B Grade with 40 from Harvey Otter’s 38, and Gavin Pitcher was best C Grader with 38 from Ron Peacock’s 37.

Wednesday September 27, Ladies’ Stroke, 2nd round of Club Championships
With one round left to determine our 2017 Ladies Club Champion, Rebecca Waldron has repeated her first round of 82 to hit the front on 164, overtaking Jenny Edmanson who is now two strokes behind Rebecca. Last year’s winner, Emma Zahl is the only other lady in contention on 169. In the October Medal event running concurrently with the Championship round, Sue Gregory has topped the field with a nett 71, to also head the C Graders from Chris Trezise on 74, Rebecca won A Grade with her nett 76, one shot clear of Joy Francis, Catherine Strachan topped B Grade with 72 ahead of Jean Pardy’s 75, and Kath Wright was best of the D Gaders with 73, one shot clear of Cheryl Johnstone. The NTP’s were won by Jacky Rowe, Lynne Kirby and Cheryl Johnstone, the ProPins by Donna Utt (0-25) and Susan May (26-45)

Saturday September 30, Men’s and Ladies’Stableford

A break from Club Championships this week because of the AFL Grand Final, and 128 men turned out for their golf fix. Trophy of the Day went to Shaun Ward with 41 points, to also take out D Grade from wily Will Pressnell with 34. Bob Gibbs topped A Grade with 37 from Doug Beare on a countback, David Bond’s 36 won him B Grade by a point from Cliff McCorkell, and Dennis Kelly scored the C Grade voucher with 34 by a point from Stephen Steele. The NTP’s went to Robert Barker, Trevor Paynting and Tony Unwin, and Robbie White won his second ProPin of the week. Of the 25 ladies who played, Gweneth Barnett did best with 36 points to edge out Jacqui Vietri on a countback, the pinshots going to Cheryl Johnstone, Gweneth and Bec Waldron.
