President’s Lunch success for local football club

Hamish McLachlan was the guest speaker for this year's Barwon Heads Football Netball Club President's Lunch.
THE Barwon Heads Hotel came to life last weekend when a local event brought sports broadcaster Hamish McLachlan into town.
Barwon Heads Football and Netball Club held their annual President’s Lunch on Saturday with about 150 people heading along.
The lunch was an opportunity for the club to thank their major sponsors of the season and give them some public recognition for their support.

McLachlan was the guest speaker for the day, taking the stand and sharing stories around his life journey and career, including those of porting greats such as Roger Federer and Kobe Bryant.
The day also included a team update from coach Sam Schaller and address from club president Russell Hyland.

“It was just a fantastic day to get the community together and a great vibe around the club, that’s all thanks to the sponsors who support us financially,” event organiser Adam Worsley said.
The auction resulted in one lucky winner heading home with a surfboard and gift voucher for local restaurant Tommy Gunns.

Once the President’s Lunch had come to an end, the crowd headed to the football club to watch the fierce rivalry between Barwon Heads and Torquay.
The club thanked their sponsors Barwon Heads Brewing Co, Bendigo Community Bank Barwon Heads, Findex, Barwon Heads Dental, Barwon Heads Hotel and Wel.co for their continued support.
