Prespakis shortlisted for AFLW 22Under22 squad

STAR Cats onballer Georgie Prespakis has been rewarded for her strong season in the hoops by being picked in the initial squad for this year’s AFLW 22Under22 team.

The AFL Players Association announced a squad of 44 players who have been shortlisted for the squad last week.

Players are selected based on consistent performance throughout the season. Playing in at least 50 per cent of matches throughout the

season is the requirement to be nominated.

Prespakis was a solid contributor for the Cats in 2024, averaging more than 20 disposals, six clearances and six tackles per game across her nine matches.

The onballer is vying for her fourth straight selection in the AFLW 22Under22 team.

She was named as a winger in season six (2022), rover in season seven (2022) and in 2023 was selected on the wing and secured vice-captain honours.

The final team will be announced on Wednesday, November 20 via the AFLPA’s website and social media channels.
