Progressive approach at Port golf club

January 29, 2018 BY

THE PORTARLINGTON Golf Club has made progressive changes, announcing a combined golf committee for the first time in the club’s history.

The committee will now work as one, covering both men’s and women’s golf, with members represented equally by both sexes and the experienced Jan Cogger announced as club captain.

The club’s Pro Shop has also undergone an extensive refurbishment courtesy of local builder, Coastyle, doubling in size while keeping with the coastal style of the building.

The new interior also includes golf simulator technology, which enables golfers to practise or have lessons and learn about their swing, regardless of the weather.

The most prevalent change within the club is a complete rebranding with a seahorse logo (indicative of the coastal surrounds) designed by Sean Rodwell replacing the maroon club colour and golf ball.

Chief executive officer Ron Stockdale said the new branding had provided the club with a fresh look and lift for the club’s profile.

“It is critical to keep evolving as a club,” Mr Stockdale said.

“Portarlington town is burgeoning with the ferry and new harbour, it’s important that we continue to develop with it.”
