SOUTH Colac’s thrashing at the hands of Lorne in 2019 is well and truly in the rear-view mirror, as it rewrote the script in 2022 and defeated Irrewarra-Beeac 9.5.59 to 6.2.38.

The Kangaroos were we kept goalless in the first term, but were still just four points behind the Bombers at Central Reserve in Colac.

South Colac awoke in the second quarter to kick four goals and earn a slim four-point lead at the main break.

Irrewarra-Beeac pulled back the deficit in the third, 39-37, setting up the fourth quarter to be a nail-biting finish between both sides.

The Kangaroos’ defense saved its best quarter for last, limiting the Bombers to one behind, while South Colac pulled away in the fourth with three majors to secure the 21-point win.

Josh Black and Nick Lynch’s two goals led the way for the Roos, while Tyler Black, Michael Embrey, Jordan Foley and Steven Presani added to the side’s majors.

South Colac’s win was the club’s sixth CDFNL Premiership in its history and first in 20 years.
