Storm enjoys strong start
BELLARINE Storm has continued its strong start to the CBL men’s summer competition with a 93 to 84 win over Bacchus Marsh.
The Lions led 20 to 19 at the first break thanks to the accurate shooting of veteran Jordan Kirk, while 23-year-old guard Billy Feben landed 16 of his 31 points in the final term.
However the home side was able to rectify a shaky opening term when scoring 47 of the following 70 points.
Josiah King led the way with 21 points for the Storm.
The 20-year-old landed nine of his side’s 19 points at the first break.
Ash Cannon finished with 16 as well as an unwelcomed elbow to the back in the later stages forcing head coach Luke Beauglehall to rest the former Supercat in the final term.
Bellarine women’s side will hope to rectify their 1-2 start in their first away game against Colac this Saturday, while the men will now host Ararat on Sunday afternoon.
