WEDNESDAY July 4 Stableford off the Blue Tees, with White Tees also an option. A field of 65 men hit the course today, causing a two graded competition in cool conditions. Once again, it was an extremely close and competitive Wednesday competition. It was countback central at The Sands today, with the top 15 scores of the day being separated by only three points! In A Grade, it was Andrew Stephens [9] who came out the countback winner with a score of 33 points, over runner-up Geoff Caddy [9] on the same score. B Grade saw big John Girling [17] with a razor thin win on 34 points, with Robert Foster [14] close behind him on 33 points. The ball pool for the day ran down to 31 points. Thursday July 5 It was Stableford of the Red Tees, as the cold and windy morning marked July’s Medal Day for the Ladies. In an unreal effort, Andrea Harvey [39] was the runaway winner, finishing on a great score of 37 points! Runner-up for the day went to Kerry Bond [11] who ended up on 33 points.

Saturday July 7 Due to the weather today, Men’s Medal for July was cancelled and rescheduled for next Saturday. However, the daily competition still ran, with it being Stableford off the Blue Tees, with White Tees option. The winner of the brave bunch on countback was Hayden Coles [21] who finished up on 38 points in testing conditions, with runner up on the day going to David Parker 9 who ended the day on 38 points as well. Nearest to pins for today went to Bruce Hay (5th hole, 6.90m) and David Parker (7th hole, 2.16m, 13th hole, 2.81m and 17th hole, 3.36m). Congratulations David on a unbelievably consistent round! The ball pool ran down the line to 31 points. In the Ladies competition, it was Stableford off the Red Tees. The winner today was Christine Brackin [23], who came out on top with an excellent score of 37 points! The ball pool ran down the line to 30 points.

Sunday July 8 Stableford Medley in the windy and cold conditions today. Once again, patches of rain made sure to test the golfers on the course. The person who adapted best to the conditions was Matthew Chalmers (20), who finished on top with a score of 36 points, great effort. The runner up on the day was Marc Blampied (16), scoring 35 points at the completion of his round. The ball pool rand down the line to 33 points.
