The Tigers host Barwon Heads tomorrow (Saturday, May 24) at 5pm following their strong win against Geelong Amateur in Round 5.
Thomson beat the previously unbeaten Ammos by 24 points, with coach Simon Cavallo admitting it was hard to know how much to take away from the triumph.
“Obviously we’re still building and I know Geelong Amos were far from full strength but there were definitely some positives for us,” he said.
“Just the way we moved the ball forward and the way we defended as well was pretty pleasing, conceding two goals to who I think might be one of the top couple of sides in the region.”

The Tigers bounced back after narrowly falling to fellow premiership contender Grovedale the weekend before.
Classy finisher Emily Kenshole featured in the best with four goals after making the most of her opportunities.
Strong leader Phoebe Monahan, the versatile and hard-working Gabby Deller and great tackler Maddi Sheedy were also among the Tigers’ better players.
The coach said the Tigers were eager to brush up on parts of their game against a Seagulls outfit they won’t be taking lightly.
He said they wanted to improve their attack from half-back as well as their stoppage work and forward 50 entries.
