Ticket sales open for Great Ocean Road Volleyfest
THE biggest international festival of beach volleyball is coming Down Under, with Torquay set to host the new Great Ocean Road Beach Volleyfest from next month.
Featuring three high profile events, including the Volleyball World Pro Tour Elite 16 and Challenge tournaments, and the opening round of the Australian Beach Volleyball Tour, there will be no shortage of world class action for Aussie fans to enjoy.
Headlining Australia’s assault will be Olympic and Commonwealth Games silver medalists Taliqua Clancy and Mariafe Artacho del Solar along with recently crowned gold medalists from the Birmingham Commonwealth Games, Chris McHugh and Paul Burnett.
Torquay will play host to the 11-day festival of beach volleyball, which will also feature live music and an entertainment hub that promises to deliver something for the whole family.
Volleyball Australia chief executive officer Andrew Dee said the November 23-December 4 event would be the largest showcase of international beach volleyball talent since the Commonwealth Games in 2018.
“The Great Ocean Road Beach Volleyfest is the newest major event on the Australian volleyball calendar and we are thrilled to be hosting two major international tournaments, Volleyball World Pro Tour Elite 16 and Challenge, as part of the festival.
“It will also launch the start of our marquee Australian Beach Volleyball Tour, providing the chance for our elite and emerging talent to play alongside the world’s best.
“More than just a sporting event, the Great Ocean Road Beach Volleyfest will offer live music, street food central, entertainment and much more.
“Thanks to the support of Visit Victoria, the Great Ocean Road Beach Volleyfest will officially launch our green and gold runway towards the Commonwealth Games in Victoria 2026 and the Olympic Games in 2032,” he said.
Tickets are now on sale, with centre court tickets starting at just $15, and outside courts from $5.
