Tigers juniors tune up with practice matches
THE Torquay Tigers juniors are roaring to get out on the field, and some of them tested their skills on Sunday in an intraclub practice match.
Players from the club’s four under-15 sides took part in two games at Grenville Oval in Torquay North.
Torquay Tigers junior manager Dean Goodear said there were separate matches for the club’s first-year players and older players.
‘To be honest, they gave it a real crack. They were all just so excited to be out on the oval and to be able to play football at all.”
Under-15 football – along with all AFL Barwon junior competitions – is set to resume this weekend.
Goodear said despite the coronavirus, there was still strong interest in playing junior footy, and Torquay would again field four full under-15 sides.
