TUESDAY once again the weather was wet and windy for the ladies only 22 entered the Red tee competition. Lyn Delmenico shot 72 to win the daily competition and was this month’s medal winner. Margot Bradley was runner-up with 76. Anne Staig had 36 points to take out this week’s Resort competition and Sarie Lowden was our 9-hole winner. NTPs Shelly Clark, Margaret DeVries, Bev Appleton, Chris Barr and Ros Lewis hit the jackpot. Chris Rudd had the fewest putts today: 33.

Wednesday conditions did not improve for the men’s comp with gusty winds and rain throughout the day. Although many golfers are up north this time of the year, and good luck to them! Our competition fields are still strong with 109 braving the winter weather to play. John Evans scored -1 to win A Grade. B Grade winner Peter Mahoney shot +2 and Ed Featherston took out C Grade with +1.

Octogenarian Cecil Browning was our resort winner with a well-earned -2. NTPs Ross Forbes, Michael Brady, Peter Mahony, Tony Cosgrave, Peter Wills. Congratulations to Ray Fitzgerald who scored his first Hole in One on the 17th and of course was the jackpot winner.

Friday John Monagle had the best score for the men with 34 points and runner-up Rod Lynch shot 33 points. There were no winners for the ladies as they decided to stay out of the cold, wet and windy conditions. Guest winner Chris martin had 19 points. Once again due to the strong winds low scores were posted for today.

Saturday was the 2nd round of the Laurie Dean Plate played over 2 rounds with a different partner and the overall win went to Hugh Thompson with 91. Daily winners Brian Baranski and David Clark shot 46 points and Runners up who also scored 46 points were Gary Taylor and Santo Giallo. Margot Bradley managed 30 points to win the ladies. NTPs Ronnie Beacom, Inge Oliver, Barry Morrison, Dave McPhail, John Anderson, Gary Taylor and Dave McPhail the jackpot.

Sunday in yet again freezing and windy weather Allen Wells finished with -1 to take out the men’s competition and guest winner Marl Siedle had -3. NTPs Peter Rees, Rob Harding and Adam Noble hit the jackpot.

Golf Shop Vets/Senior timesheet is now open for members to book, it will be held on the 3rd of September.
