MONDAY was once again time for the Vets/Seniors game. Dodgy weather conditions once again kept the field down to just 47 players.

Wind, rain and golf were the obstacles for today, but as always, the hot roast rolls at the end made it all worthwhile. Ian Looney was our men’s winner scoring 28 points from John Monagle who also scored 28 point and the ladies winner Joan Thomson 26 points. NTPs warren Harris and Heather Wemyss-Smith.

Tuesday the ladies took to the course with huge smiles as at last the sun was shining and the wind disappeared.

Scoring was much easier today and the event 4BBB Par.

Our winning A Grade team of Mandy Buckley and Kaylene Potter had +8 to triumph over Robyne Westacott and Trudy Bath who finished +5. B Grade winners Sue Booth and Vicki Rossiter scored +8 from Wendy Callahan and Margaret DeVries with +4.

Marg Joyner won our 9-Hole competition scoring -1. NTPs Dee Matheson, Lesley Grebe, Trish Morris, Dee Matheson and Lyndsey Dunstan hit the jackpot.

Wednesday Matt Carboon off three handicap had 39 points to take out A Grade impressive scoring in the wind and rain.

Jeff welsh won B Grade with 37 points and our C Grade winner Danny Guiney scored 39 points. James Wood took out the Resort competition with 39 points. Super 6 winners Blue Tees Ross Martin and Green Tees Ross Forbes 14 points. NTPs Trevor Doolan, Phil Brown, Ian Foot, Garry Smith and Ken Ballard hit the jackpot.

Friday the game was stroke and you could hear the sighs from golfers as they checked in to pay their competition fees. Weather conditions had calmed and the sun finally made an appearance so scores were low. Ross Martin had a great round finishing first with 66. Alan Scholten back from a holiday playing golf at Narooma must have found our course easier as he shot 68 to take out second place. Ladies Winner Mary Sweet scored 75 and our guest winner David Crawford 66. NTPs Deb Shoesmith, Ronnie Beacom, Trevor Chappell, John Monagle and Peter Rees took out the jackpot.

Saturday was another bleak one with strong wind gusts and rain throughout the day but some of our golfers are tough with 108 players taking to the course.
