Torquay Golf Club – February 22, 2018

OUR temporary course is in play until March 23, all going to plan for the re-invented 3rd hole. Check the website for any updates on progress.

Monday: 82 members played in our Vets/seniors 12-hole monthly game and it looks like it is just growing every month.

The timesheet is always open for you to book, so get in early before you miss out; the roast roll is always a hit as well!

It is a very friendly fun day to play. Once again, some good scores were posted like the men’s winner John Monagle 29 points and our ladies winner Carol Mayne also 29 points. NTPs Mandy Buckley and Geoff Drury.

Tuesday: was stroke for the ladies and the club medal was up for grabs. Putting in a great round was Wendy Johnson with 65 to win a Grade. B Grade and medal winner Joan Thomson scored an impressive 64. C Grade winner Jenny McGaw had 66. Lesley Beltrame took out the Resort competition with 39 points. NTPs Dee Matheson, Kerry Castleman, Inge Oliver, Helen Bloink and Marina Naughton hit the jackpot.

Wednesday: Barry Morrison won a Grade with 39 points. B Grade went to Ian Sheldon also scoring 39 points. C Grade winner Nathan Papworth scored 42 points. Graeme sharp finished 1st for the Resort with 38 points. Guest winner Jeff Green (Creswick GC) shot 37 points. NTPs Henry Kelly, Bruce Harvey, Doug Young, Ken Isaac, Gary Gemmola and Ken McCallum hit the jackpot.

Friday: andy Clark hit 39 points to win a Grade. B Grade winner Noel Ryan had 38 points and andrew Franklin shot a great round of 46 points. The ladies went to Jill Chick with 43 points. Guest winner Jan Brinkhuis (Medway GC) had 44 points. nTPs Tony nicholls, Marg Joyner, Clive smith and arthur Croft hit the jackpot.

Saturday: Tony Jones shot +5 to win a Grade. B Grade went to Kev Leeman +3. C Grade winner Rodger Thomas had +5 and Tony Nicholls took out d Grade with +4. anne staig had +2 to take out the ladies. Resort winner Bob Gough shot +3. Guest winner Rodney Clark had +6.

NTPs darren Gibbons, Marg Joyner, Graeme Sharp, Ronnie Beacom, Jordan Briggs, John Mahoney, Bob Darby and Michael McKinnon hit the jackpot.

Sunday: Paul Palimaka took out a Grade with 41 points. Trevor Butler won B Grade competition with 46 points. The ladies competition was won by Chris Branch with 38 points. Bosko Pavlovic won the men’s guest competition with 41 points. NTPs Paul Palimaka, Wayne Olney, Pamela Brewin and taking out the jackpot was the living legend himself Ron Haeberle.
