Torquay Golf Club – Febuary 8, 2018

TUESDAY: Wendy Johnson shot 35 points to take out A Grade. B Grade winner Sue Barnes also had 35 points and C Grade went to Sandra Martin with 36 points. Norma Veale was the best in the Resort with 28 points, which in the windy conditions was a great effort. NTPs Inge Oliver, Cheryl Brunt, Judy Sceney, Diane Liley, Jeanette Langan and Jenni Cottrill hit the jackpot.

Wednesday: Well done to Ross Duff, this week’s A Grade winner, with 42 points. He must have been able to concentrate on his golf as he did not play with his usual group; we hear there a lot of sledging goes on between them each week. B Grade winner Robert Brzozek had 38 points. C grade went to Ray Gogoll shot 39 points and our D grade winner was Trevor Carter on 36 points. Graeme Sharp took out the Resort competition with a solid round of 38 points. Our men’s guest winner, Leigh Noske, had 36 points. NTPs Trevor Carter, Garry Smith, Norm Johnson, Bob Gough. Mark Franklin and Barry Grigg hit the jackpot.

Friday: Ron Fish shot 39 points to take out A Grade. B Grade went to John Nestor with 42 points. Wanda Paterson won the ladies’ with 31 points. Scott Brown was our guest winner with a fabulous score of 47 points off an eight handicap; in his round he scored five birdies and two bogeys and the rest were pars. NTPs Rob Young, Marg Joyner, Gary Gemmola and Cheryl Brunt hit the jackpot.

Saturday: there were some great scores posted and the conditions were perfect for golf. A Grade winner Wes Bumpstead shot a 67 to win and also won this month’s medal. B Grade went to Andrew Crowley with 69. C Grade winner Kevin Young had 68 and our D grade winner Boyd Williams had 67.

Annette Joyce won the ladies and was this month’s medal winner shooting 72. The Resort competition went to Terry Lyons with 38 points. Guest winners were Joe Matokovic 71 and Dallas Wickenden (Keysborough GC) 74. NTPs Ian Dendle, Peter Mahoney, Lyndsey Dunstan, Ronnie Beacom, John Laidlaw, Terry Lyons, Brian Boadle and Barry Hewitt hit the jackpot.

Sunday: morning individual stableford winner was Brian Boadle with 42 points. Guest winner Andrew Torney had 45 points. The afternoon was opening day for the start of our competition season. The men’s winner was Steve Grayson 40 points, runner-up Paul Palimaka 40 points and 3rd Clive Smith 38 points. Ladies’ winners were Trish Morris, 38 points; runner-up Chery Brunt, 37 points; and 3rd Lois Matthews, 37 points. NTPs Noel Orwin, Margot Bradley, Cheryl Brunt, Wes Matthews, Darrel Brewin, Ray Frost, Peter Orwin and Darrel Brewin jackpot.
